THAIFEX – Anuga Asia recognises innovation with alternative protein flavour and taste contest; winners announced

Three companies were recongised as winners across three categories at the inaugurual alternative protein flavour and taste contest

As part of THAIFEX – Anuga Asia’s successful run, the trade show hosted an inaugural alternative protein flavour and taste contest, where trade visitors sampled and voted for the best alternative protein products as part of the Future Food Experience+ programme. The competition evaluated entries based on taste, texture, aroma, and innovation. The winners of each category are as follows:

For taste, CPF Global Food Solution impressed with their Thai green curry gyoza, which combines the traditional flavours of Thai green curry with the delicate texture of gyoza. These dumplings are plant-based and filled with a blend of spices and herbs.

For texture, HA LI FA’s EPL mushrooms balls and EPL vegetable balls won voters for their balance of texture and flavour. Made from high-quality ingredients, they offer a satisfying bite or are a versatile addition to various dishes. EPL offers a 0% cholesterol food made from plants, are free from trans-fat, and contains dietary fibre.

For aroma and innovation, MORNING ARCH and their Hello M’arch quinoa noodle meal kit (in assorted flavours) features non-fried noodles made from high-protein wheat flour and organic quinoa. Each meal kit is packed with fresh ingredients and vibrant spices, delivering an aromatic experience. The meal kits are designed to be healthy and convenient, with no added MSG, artificial colouring, or preservatives.

These products enhance the vibrance of alternative protein products in the food and beverage industry and showcase the potential and creativity in developing plant-based food sector.
