The 3FG15 three-finger gripper with a 150mm stroke can be deployed for heavy-payload machine-tending applications that requires “high precision and flexible” handling.

OnRobot, the markers of plug-and-produce robotics tools for collaborative applications, has released the compact, large-stroke 3FG15 three-finger gripper. The 3FG15 improves previously hard-to-automate precision handling of cylindrical parts easy to programme and deploy, and provides flexibility for a wide range of part sizes.
Enrico Krog Iversen, CEO of OnRobot, said: “Our new 3FG15 three-finer gripper was developed as a response to existing pneumatic three-finger grippers that are bulkier and less flexible. We have long defined the market for electric parallel grippers with the RG2 and RG6 series, and we look forward to addressing new market segments and applications with a new three-finger gripper that allows users to deploy applications faster even with highly accurate, fixed positioning.”
The 3FG15 gripper has a maximum stroke of 150mm that can manage multiple processes. The innovative three-finger design with a 15kg payload provides a “strong, stable” grip for both form fit or friction fit gripping, adding flexibility to any implementation.
Developed for machine-tending tasks, the gripper’s design automatically centers workpieces, resulting in a strong grip and precise placement in machine chucks. The gripper can also be deployed for packaging and palletising applications, and is compatible with collaborative or light industrial robot arm through OnRobot’s One System Solution, a platform that provides a unified mechanical and electrical interface between robot arms and any OnRobot end-of-arm tooling (EoAT).
