Gulfood 2016: DMK CONSUMER Presents Oldenburger Innovations and Rose Brand

High-quality dairy products from Germany conquer MENA states

Bremen – At this year’s Gulfood in Dubai, DMK CONSUMER will present attractive new products from the Oldenburger and Rose brands. Oldenburger stands for “Quality Made in Germany” – made from fresh milk produced by Germany’s largest dairy company. The brand is already established in more than 80 countries around the world. Rose’s chief success has been focused in western Africa up to now. This success is now to be extended with the brand’s launch in the MENA countries.

Oldenburger’s new products for consumers

Oldenburger is already one of the MENA countries’ biggest-selling import brands in the UHT milk and UHT cream segments. This market position is to be further enhanced with promising innovations, as explained by Michael Feller, DMK CONSUMER’s Managing Director for Marketing/Sales: “Quality wins – the successful development of our brand illustrates that very impressively. All Oldenburger products are made in Germany from 100 per cent pure, fresh cow’s milk and packaged there. We don’t offer any recombined products. Our customers appreciate that – both consumers and partners from the food service sector.”

The new Oldenburger products that DMK is to present at Gulfood will also give sales a strong boost. They include strawberry, banana and cacao flavoured milk drinks. The convenient 200ml packs with straw are ideal for on-the-go consumption and play to the continuing out-of-home trend. The milk drinks appeal particularly to kids, but also to young adults looking for taste and variety.

“In addition to new flavours, we will also present new packagings at Gulfood,” says Eusebio Gonzalez, Managing Director DMK MENA. “One example is the modern, slim 200ml pack with straw for Oldenburger full cream milk. The convenient upright format is easier to handle and very popular with consumers.”

Convenience is also the word for the new Oldenburger 200g evaporated milk softpack with screw cap, which is already available. “Evaporated milk is a key dairy product in the MENA countries,” says Eusebio Gonzalez. “It normally comes in tins. With the modern softpack, Oldenburger is offering an attractive alternative with a number of advantages. The pack makes it easier to pour and dispense the milk and is also reclosable. That makes the milk easy and convenient to use, whether at home or for the eating-out market.” The Oldenburger evaporated milk softpack is therefore ideal for small cafés, hotels and restaurants.

Another innovation is Oldenburger blended spread, a blend of butter and high-quality vegetable oils which is particularly easy to spread even straight from the fridge. Oldenburger Butteresse is available in reclosable packages of 200g.

Oldenburger products for food service customers

The Oldenburger brand makes DMK a competent partner for international customers not only in the B2C sector, but also in food service sector. The brand has long been very popular with food service. Oldenburger offers a broad range of products specifically designed for tea and coffee shops, bakeries and pizza restaurants, from UHT whipping cream and coffee cream to butter and a wide variety of cheeses in different formats. The cream portfolio now also features a cooking cream with a fat content of only 20 per cent, available in 1l and 200ml softpacks, and a culinary cream with 18 per cent fat. Both products are ideal for hot food. The range of cheeses has also been expanded: 2.5kg and 10kg packs of mozzarella, produced and packed at a new mozzarella cheese factory in Germany with state-of-the-art technology, add to the company’s wide variety of yellow cheeses such as gouda, edam and emmental.

Rose: A regional DMK brand is to be launched in the MENA states

In addition to the successful Oldenburger brand, DMK CONSUMER will present a regional brand in the white line segment at Gulfood: Rose. Rose is already very successful in western African countries with its UHT milk portfolio. The popular brand is now to be launched in further countries in the MENA region. “Rose will be positioned as an upper mainstream dairy brand,” says Michael Feller. “Our focus in sales will therefore be on the major retail chains, concentrating initially on a whole milk assortment in three different pack sizes: –1l, 0.5l and 200ml.” The DMK CONSUMER’s Managing Director for Marketing/Sales is certain that Rose will also see growth in the other MENA countries. Displaying the brand name in both Latin and Arabic script will support sales. Added to this will be the strong symbol of the rose on the packaging: it is extremely memorable and has a high recognition value.
