DSM, Sheikh Saeed Hall 2, Stand S2-A32, Gulfood Manufacturing, Dubai, 7-9 November 2016
DSM presents its proprietary consumer insights at this year’s Gulfood Manufacturing, to help tailor products to meet current and future needs in the Middle East. The growing trend for health and wellness has resulted in an increasing demand for healthy products, as well as fortified foods, beverages and supplements. With an in-depth understanding of consumer behavior and a long history of presence in the Middle East region, DSM brings a broad range of innovative, Halal solutions to answer the demand for better-for-you products.
To give its customers a competitive edge, DSM has recently unveiled new data on consumer health concerns in specific countries and visitors can access the key findings at the DSM booth. For example, the survey found that 55% of the population in Egypt is concerned about protection against diseases in later life and 53% is concerned about weight. These insights, alongside scientific expertise, allow DSM to further support the development of the right products for people at different life stages. A recent DSM Global Insight Series report also shows that growing concerns over added sugar will pave the way for sugar-reduced dairy all over the world, including the Middle East. Visitors will receive a USB stick containing the consumer insights reports and will be able to discuss the results with consumer research experts.
At its booth, DSM will present solutions for salt reduction in baked goods and sugar reduction in dairy products to enable better food for everyone. DSM will also present its freeze dried cultures, which are a perfect fit for the challenging climate in many Middle Eastern countries. Other solutions available from DSM are high performance coloration options, including for carmine replacement, and antioxidants to increase shelf life and address clean label concerns. DSM will also present its Halal vitamin D product forms to address one of the major micronutrient deficiencies in the region, with a recent study, for example, finding that 63% of females in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are deficient in vitamin D.
Visitors can join DSM to taste various prototypes, such as low sugar yogurt and feta cheese and healthy, vitamin-enriched juices for kids. There will also be a coffee bar with a professional barista, where visitors can enjoy a variety of high quality coffees, anytime of the day.
