Due to the ongoing pandemic, the most important trade fair for the printing industry, Drupa, will take place between 20 to 23 April 2021 in a digital format. During this event, Comexi will present the company’s news in flexographic, offset, and digital printing, as well as lamination and slitting.
Jorge Serra, marketing director of Comexi, believes that at the core of their work is sustainability and concern for the global environment, which the company extends to their innovative printing and converting solutions.
He added that their motto of “Better packaging, better world” is demonstrated through their strengths in areas of innovation, automation and digitisation.
“We embrace our responsibility to flexible packaging, and do not solely believe in finding more sustainable alternatives, but also in a circular economy as a global solution itself,” said Serra.
There will be seven webinars that are open to all registered visitors for free. Two of them will explore their new launches and innovative solutions toward flexible packaging.
Two others, namely Sustainable Printing and Sustainability in the Converting Process will address issues of sustainability.
Industry 4.0 is the amalgamation of three webinars: Digital revolution in flexible packaging printing, Profitable automation to increase performance on flexible packaging processes and Beyond printing presses.
Comexi marks 67 years of historical evolution
Ever since the Offset CI Evolution was launched in 2012, the machines have gone through six decades of providing solutions to the flexible packaging sector.
To meet the growing needs of the market, the new generation of machines are now being rolled out. To obtain the maximum printing quality, a new generation of Cones is developed under GeniusTech technology and incorporates anti-bouncing systems, inking systems and drying efficiency.
Equipped with an EB curing system, the new Comexi Offset CI Evolution provides greater surface protection for mono-film recyclable packaging, is solvent-free, produces high quality printing, allows for faster prepress, and makes plates at a lower cost.
In addition to this, the newly-enhanced performance model has new automation features as well as the option of colour control.
On a related note, the S1 DS slitter is a double shaft machine with a focus on large output diameters, and has every available automation. It will be able to work at a speed of 1000m/min, making it the fastest machine in Comexi’s history. It offers high efficiency regarding long runs and optimum changing format agility.
As for laminators, the Comexi ML2 incorporates new fairings to facilitate the conversion of flexible packaging, making it an increasingly efficient machine.
Among these options, the Comexi Closed Loop is significant since it allows for the automatic adjustment of adhesive grammage without solvents.
Additionally, the automatic adjustment system of mark-to-mark cold seal registration avoids operator intervention and greatly reduces material waste and loss of set-up time.
The objective of these two systems is to facilitate job set-up and make machines more automatic in the longer term.
