Comexi completes remote installation of S2 DT compact slitter for Flexiplast

The company has been working for an extended period of time towards automation regarding their entire product line, particularly within the slitting division.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Comexi completed remote installation for a number of its machines, most recently being a S2 DT compact slitter for Flexiplast, an Ecuadorian manufacturer of flexible packaging.

During the installation, performed at the facilities of Flexiplast in Quito, the distance between the plant and the headquarters of Comexi was not an obstacle. The success of the project is primarily due to the considerable involvement of the entire Flexiplast team, together with the support of the Comexi slitting department and the local Ecuadorian technical assistance team.

Arturo Sanchez, manager for Flexiplast, is pleased with the remote installation of the Comexi S2 DT slitter, and is confident that the machine will allow the company to continue offering services to its customers, despite the difficulties of the current pandemic situation.

Equipped with a turret system to streamline project changes, the S2 DT slitter supported Flexiplast in producing a large number of reels. Comexi further revealed that there are currently more than 100 Comexi S2 DT slitters deployed in the market

Comexi has been facilitating the launches and machine operations as a strategic key pillar of the company. This approach has contributed to the success in the fulfilment of remote installations. Furthermore, it has worked towards automation. In particular, the slitting division, which has positively distinguished itself from other product divisions, focuses on automation to spearhead among competitors and offer both slitters as well as end of line automation.
