Bostik introduces Herberts 700 series for retort and metalised film applications

Bostik Herberts LF794/H180 and LF728/H128 are polyurethane solvent-free adhesive solutions designed for food packaging and industrial markets.

Bostik has announced a new series of flexible lamination solutions. The Bostik Herberts 700 series, is an adhesive solution that aims to improve performance while being environmentally friendly.

Herberts LF794/H180 and LF728/H128 are designed for food packaging applications, and can also be used in industrial and medical markets. Herberts LF794/H180 is a polyurethane solvent-free retort adhesive solution for flexible packaging in food sterilisation, stand-up pouches made with foil and spouts for boiling, lidding and facial mask packaging applications. Applicable for up to four layers of aluminum lamination retort, Herberts LF794/H180 has a stable bonding strength and chemical resistance suitable for packaging ingredients with higher acidic content.

As for Herberts LF728/H128, it is a polyurethane solvent-free adhesive for metalised film, which is mostly applied in flexible packaging. Herberts LF728/H128 features anti-rub properties, almost low to no-metallisation transfer, and ensures metalised film does not dissolve after boiling.

Daniel Thong, regional market manager for flexible packaging, industrial adhesives Asia, Bostik, said: “There is an upward trend in consumer demand for convenient packaging, and manufacturers need to constantly innovate their materials to be able to meet this demand or risk being left behind. Our Herberts LF794/H180 and LF728/H128 are made using the latest, high performance flexible lamination technology, and are designed to provide a similar level of performance to solvent-based adhesives.”
