Bettcher introduces Quantum X1500 Trimmer for the meat processing industry

Bettcher Industries has developed Quantum Flex Trimmer X1500 for defatting pork. The trimmer is said to make defatting more precise for increased yields. Additionally, an optional adjustable depth gauge allows for flexibility and precision.

The trimmers are designed to improve yields and productivity, and enables operators to trim the meat “more precisely and effectively” with less effort. The lightweight ergonomic design supports common meat applications for trimmers, which includes defatting bone-in loins, skin patching pork bellies as well as defatting pork shoulders and hams.

The versatility allows the Quantum Flex Trimmer to be attached to any Bettcher motor, such as the Quantum S motor, Series II UltraDrive motor, UN-84 motor and Whizard Quantum motor. Furthermore, the interchangeable handles in different sizes are made of vibration-absorbing material to provide additional comfort and keep hands warmer than metal handles. Bi-directional grip design improves tool handling by adding traction to the operator’s hand.

Russ Stroner, vice-president of global sales, Bettcher Industries, said: “The user-friendliness and the ergonomics of our trimmers have always been a particular focus of our product development. For example, Bettcher trimmers use inclined blades, which ensures a gentle posture for users when trimming, since the wrist is held in a neutral position and the forearm is less stressed.

“Bettcher is particularly proud of the development of the micro-break hand strap: the stable carrying strap allows the user to relieve the fingers between the individual handles while at the same time maintaining full control over the tool. This saves energy and also prevents signs of fatigue.”
