Barry Callebaut adds fourth production line to Singapore facility

Barry Callebaut has announced the installation of its fourth production line at their chocolate factory in Singapore. The newly added production line provides the facility the ability to produce chocolate blocks of different volumes at a rate of high efficiency, allowing Barry Callebaut to meet increased export demands for the region.

With this new installation, total output for the factory is increased to around the equivalent amount of 888 million Kit Kat bars yearly, affirming Barry Callebaut’s role in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region by volume.

Ben De Schryver, president of Barry Callebaut Asia-Pacific, commented: “The continued expansion of this factory reaffirms Barry Callebaut’s commitment in Singapore for the long-term. We look forward to continuing working with the government, local institutions, and our customers and partners to realise our role as the leading chocolate manufacturer in this country.

“We are very encouraged by the steady growth of Singapore’s food industry which would not have been possible without the country’s strong reputation in food safety and quality. For us, this expansion in Singapore is also about paving the way for our business to be more efficient overall, and bringing more innovations to the markets.”
