The India Government has created a COVID-19 ICU facility at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, which is the venue planned for the trade fair.
India is witnessing a rapid second wave of the COVID-19 infection cases, and the local government has issued a warning to reimpose the lockdown in Mumbai. This resulted in multiple venues being transformed to COVID-19 facilities to treat maximum number of patients possible, and one of which is Bombay Exhibition Centre, which ANUTEC – International FoodTec India is planned to be held from 3-5 Feb 2021.
The organisers have therefore made the decision to cancel the event.
Milind Dixit, managing director of Koelnmesse, said: “This inevitable decision comes as a consequence of insurgent COVID-19 situation around us. However, with industry’s support, we are confident to rise, reassemble and present the best B2B trade fair to the Indian food industry in September 2021.”
The next ANUTEC – International FoodTec India, co-located with PackEx India, Food Logistics India, and ANUTEC Ingredients India, will be held from 15-17 Sep 2021 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
