It is expected to bring together more than 700 exhibitors across 35,000 square metres.

The exhibition will cover the full food and beverage supply chain, including sweets and snacks, seafood and frozen food, fine food, meat, healthy food, coffee and tea, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, dairy, food service, and the Anuga FoodTec showcase.

Michiel Kruse, managing director of Koelnmesse (Beijing) Co., Ltd., said: “Drawing on a century of expertise in the exhibition industry, Koelnmesse has built an international platform for business connections, trend launches, and technology exchanges across the food and beverage community. Together with our partners, we aim to support professionals in making the most of the opportunities presented by the Greater Bay Area and beyond.”

Review of the last edition

The 2025 edition attracted 603 exhibitors and 31,428 trade visitors, a 15% increase from the previous year. International participation grew by 37%, with strong representation from Europe and Southeast Asia. According to organisers, 75% of exhibitors connected with key buyers, while 82% noted positive impact on brand visibility.

Exhibitors included delegations from Germany, Turkey, and Iran, who introduced regional specialities to the Chinese market. Chinese companies, such as China State Farm and Yihai Kerry, also presented new products and technologies.

Angel Sha, from the import commodity department of Yihai Kerry Foodstuffs Marketing Co., Ltd., said:

“Our company debuted Meadow Fresh at Anuga Select China, promoting premium dairy products. It attracted many customers, enhanced brand awareness, and helped explore both offline and online cooperation.”

Lucas Dávila, market intelligence expert from Instituto Nacional de Carnes, added:

“INAC has participated in Anuga Select China since 2021. For us, China is a key market where we export one third of our beef. Shenzhen is an important port of entry, and we look forward to introducing more consumers to Uruguay beef through this event.”

Focus on future trends

Anuga Select China 2026 will highlight four themes shaping the industry:

  • compound flavouring that combines bold new tastes with scene-specific experiences for younger consumers
  • convenience foods moving from “quick calories” to “premium convenience” with prepared and short-shelf-life products
  • healthy diets with functional ingredients and clean labels
  • sustainable production and packaging, including ingredient traceability and low-carbon solutions

These themes will be explored through trend forums, live demonstrations, and matchmaking sessions.

Programme and activities

The 2026 edition will expand its international buyer network, particularly in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. A data-driven matchmaking system will be introduced to improve business connections. A dedicated FoodTec showcase will feature innovations in processing and packaging, while foodservice integration will be strengthened through tailored activities.

Supporting programmes will include the Global Food Retail Forum, the Innova X ACH Global Food & Beverage Trends Gathering & Innovation Pioneer Award, the Solar Term Cuisine Award, and Foodie Space cooking demonstrations. A pre-show Chef Table event will also be held, offering networking and product preview opportunities.
